For our Sepetember 12th, 2025 meeting, RMCF welcomes Dr. Kevin Horton. He will presenting Arial videographic evidence of the Genesis Flood using the Glacial Lake Missoula Flood to model flood-formed geomorphological structures. Dr. Horton is the Director of The Institute for Biblical Authority (IBA). He holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Dickinson State College in Dickinson, North Dakota. He earned a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and a Master of Divinity from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Horton practiced veterinary medicine on both large and small animals in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana for 20 years. During the last five years of veterinary practice, he answered God's call to church leadership and began reducing his veterinary practice. Over the years he established two churches in the Valley. He served Crossroads Christian Fellowship of Victor, MT as senior pastor for 21 years. He began full-time as director of IBA in the spring of 2018. Dr. Horton has a passion to see God's Word correctly understood and that begins in Genesis. Many Christians compromise on the clear interpretation of the first 11 chapters as a result of the apparent contradiction between “science” and the Bible. Dr. Horton has observed that the incompatibility between these two world views is not science and the Bible. Rather he observes that an atheistic philosophy has been ruthlessly forced upon much of modern scientific interpretation leading to a façade that science rules over the Bible. In stark contrast, Dr. Horton desires to show how scientific observations and data strongly support a solid biblical worldview with no need to compromise on Biblical interpretation.
The Genesis Flood is the most controversial event in the book of Genesis today (2 Peter 3:5-6). The literal existence of the worldwide flood destroys the entire modern scientific geological column and its deep-time counterpart. Is there any evidence of this catastrophic event? Using drone videography, Dr. Kevin Horton first examines a known catastrophic event (the Glacial Lake Missoula Flood) as a model to define what massive flooding will leave behind. With their vision now trained to see the world from the bird’s eye view, he then takes his audience on numerous flights across the central and western US to see for themselves the Flood of Genesis. After viewing this highly visual presentation, you will never see the landscape the same again!
NOTE: This presentation is valuable to both the scientifically trained and to families with children (I recommend high school and above for this full version). It was presented last year to the geology section at the Annual Meeting of the Creation Research Society. It has also been presented (shorter versions) to 4-6th grade students with equal success.
